Whitchurch get their local library talking
by donating talking books for the blind
We all like to get engrossed in a good story book, but for some it isn't that easy.
Our team at Whitchurch heard how their local library wanted to provide opportunities and books for everybody's enjoyment, but their 'talking books' selection for the blind and partially sighted was in dire need of expansion.
Funeral Arranger Margaret Hewson was really keen to make a difference as she knows the struggle.
Since her dad became partially sighted in 2010 after suffering from a stroke, they have to order books straight to his home as the library choice isn't great, and this comes at quite an expense!
With it being a cause so close to her heart, it gave her the get-up-and-go to help and together with her colleagues (Paul Stockton pictured is one of these), she bought and donated a generous amount of books to the library.
This will make a huge difference to so many in the community, and means everybody has an equal chance to enjoy the services their local library has to offer.
Well done to the team!
